7 Nutrient Rich Smoothies

After weeks of over indulgence, non-stop eating and drinking you may want to detox your body and boost your immunity. Here are seven smoothie recipes packed with fruits and vegetables. All the smoothies are highly nutritious and made in a way to get different types of antioxidants from different smoothies. Vibrant Violet Smoothie

Ingredients

1 Cup of Red Cabbage – Chopped (yes, you heard it right, red cabbages are rich in Anthocyanin, a powerful antioxidant.)
1 Medium Banana – Peeled
1 Apple – Cored and chunked
1 Cup of Water

Method

Place all ingredients into a high powered blender and blend until smooth. This smoothie is very delicious and you won’t even recognise that there is cabbage in it.

Ingredients

1/2 Medium Beetroot – Peel and cut into chunks
1 Medium Carrot – Cut into chunks
1 stalk of Celery - Cut into chunks
1 Apple – Cored and cut into chunks
1 Cup of Cooked Brown rice
1 Cup of Water

Method

Put all ingredients into a high powered blender and blend until smooth. Add more water if you like a thinner consistency. This smoothie is very creamy and yummy!

Red Boost Smoothie

Ingredients

1 Handful of Almonds
1 Red Pepper – Remove seeds and stalk  and cut into chunks
1/2 Cup Halved Cherries – Stone removed
Lemon juice – 1tbsp
1/2 Cup Red Grapes
1 Medium Carrot – cut into chunks
1 Cup of Water

Method

Put all ingredients into a high powered blender and blend until smooth. This smoothie is rich in beta carotene and vitamin C and E.

Blueberry Breakfast Smoothie

Ingredients

1 Medium Banana – Peel and cut into chunks
1 Cup of Blueberry
1/2 Cup of Rolled Oats
1 Cup of Almond milk

Place all ingredients into a high powered blender and blend until smooth. This smoothie is rich in antioxidants and is an ultimate comfort breakfast after stressful holidays.

Green Blast Smoothie

Ingredients

1/4 Cup Cooked Red Lentils
1 Cup of Kale Leaves
1 Cup of Baby Spinach Leaves
1/2 Cup Cucumber – dice

Yellow Pineapple and Pepper Smoothie

Ingredients

1 Cup of Diced Pineapple
1/2 Yellow Pepper – diced
1/2 Cup cooked Moong Dal
3 Brazil Nuts
1 Cup of Water

Orange Wonder Smoothie

4 Clementines – Peeled and seeds removed
